Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive

The National Honor Society is sponsoring the Annual Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive.  Please bring in any canned food to help local San Antonio families. All canned food is donated to the Inner City Development located in the heart of San Antonio’s Westside Community. Students have begun collecting canned food for “Wall Out The Teacher” day on Wednesday, November 25th.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FAMILY DAY HIGHLIGHTS

Middle School Family Day was today, Thursday, November 12, 2015. The event highlighted the Middle School students, who were able to give their families tours of their classrooms, have the chance to meet their teachers, and show case some of their best work.

A special thanks to all of our Middle School Teachers for putting on a wonderful event for our Middle School students and their families!

SENIOR SIGNS TO PLAY BASKETBALL AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH DAKOTA

This morning, Wednesday,  November 11th,  Senior, Brandon Armstrong Class of 2016, signed his letter of intent to attend and play basketball at the University of South Dakota, located in Vermillion, South Dakota.

On his official signing day, Mr. Armstrong,  was accompanied by Holy Cross Principal, Mr. Galindo, Holy Cross Basketball Coach, Mr. Chad Curran, and his family members.

Dear Holy Cross Families,

Holy Cross of San Antonio is participating in the Catholic Life Sweepstakes raffle. Here are some helpful tips and information.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

QUESTION: CAN I SELL TICKETS?

ANSWER: Yes, enrolled families at Holy Cross can participate by selling the raffle tickets.

QUESTION: HOW DO I GET MY TICKETS?

ANSWER: Twenty (20) tickets (or $100.00 worth) can be issued to you at the Advancement Office. Each ticket is $5.00.

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE BENEFIT TO MY FAMILY?

ANSWER: For every $100.00 worth of tickets sold, you can apply $90.00 toward your child’s tuition at Holy Cross of San Antonio and $10.00 goes to the school admin. costs. Additional tickets can be issued by the Office of Advancement & Public Relations once you sell your first 20 tickets by showing your receipt of deposit from the Business Office.

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE DEADLINE?

ANSWER: All funds and ticket stubs will be due by Friday, Jan. 15, 2016  end of business day.

Grand Prize includes choice of:

2015 Ford F-150 Truck or 2015 Ford Fusion Sedan or $20,000 Prepaid VISA Credit Card

PARTICIPATING SCHOOL PRIZE

Each participating school will have a $1,000 Prepaid ISA Credit Card individual winner drawn from tickets sold by their school.

HALLOWEEN DRESS CODE

Students will have the opportunity to show their Halloween spirit and dress up on Friday, Oct. 30th.

Dress Code and Guidelines

  • All dress code guidelines found in the student-handbook apply
  • Additional guidelines include:
    • To participate you must come to school fully dressed in an obvious costume
    • No bare midriffs or revealing clothing
    • No jeans, unless they are an integral part of the costume
    • No cross-dressing
    • No tank tops, spaghetti straps or bare shoulders
    • No shorts without leggings or tights for the ladies, and nothing shorter than the knee for the men
    • No skirts without leggings or tights
    • No flip-flops
    • No clothing that contains a product name representing alcohol or drugs
    • No costumes that would offend anyone (gender, race, sexuality, etc.)
    • No satanic/demonic costumes
    • Please note: If your costume has a mask, you may bring it to school to wear for our Halloween gathering but students are not allowed to wear them during the school day

Students should make their costume choices carefully. Be creative!  Do not come to school dressed in jeans and a T-shirt and say you are dressed for the 80’s or 90’s.

If you do not have a costume, please attend school in your uniform.

Students may elect to come to school in Spirit Dress attire for a $1 fee.  If you come to school dressed inappropriately, you will be sent home from school or receive a Saturday detention.

This Halloween dress-up day is meant to be fun, and student behavior on this day will affect future dress-up days. Please be respectful so that the student body can have future dress-up and spirit days.

Fridays Halloween Assembly will include a Costume Contest!
