BEREAVEMENT OF VINCENT SANCHEZ

 Vincent P. Sanchez was born on July 3, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas. His parents are Steve H. III and Olivia Sanchez. On February 4, 2021, he entered into the heavenly gates of eternal rest. Vincent is survived by his father Steve H. Sanchez III and mother Olivia Sanchez; wife, Sandra Sanchez; his daughters, Leilani Sanchez and Natalie Sanchez. Five Brothers Steve IV, John (Leticia), Gilbert, Rene, Orlando (April) Sanchez, and a huge community of family friends. Vincent graduated from Holy Cross High School class of 71’. He was a proud and loyal KNIGHT. He worked as an assistant manager at Walmart and Kroger Grocery for over 30 years. Vincent served in the United States Marine Corp. Vincent was a loving, hard worker and most generous son, husband, father, brother, and friend.

Kathleen Alvarado Mata of San Antonio, TX passed away on January 30, 2021, at the age of 66.

She was born in San Antonio, TX on December 9, 1954. Kathleen graduated from Memorial High School in 1972 and married Juan C. Mata on October 6, 1973. She was a loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was proud of her three children and was their biggest fan, never having missed a game, play, recital, or band performance. She adored her granddaughters and cherished her moments with them. Her career included working at Globe, Kmart, Holy Cross of San Antonio before spending 22 years at the Bexar County Tax Office. She was an avid Fiesta San Antonio fan, rarely missing a Battle of Flowers or Fiesta Flambeau Parade. Her love of Fiesta led her to proudly collect Fiesta medals which she wore to many Fiesta events. She was a family person, kind, and caring because of this she led her life through a Servant’s Heart, choosing to serve others before herself. She could often be found cheering on her friends or relatives at CYO or High School games. She had a love for children and supported all, not just

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Alvarado, and Wenceslao Henry Alvarado, brothers Richard and Joe Henry.

She is survived by her husband, Juan C. Mata, children, Juan Mata, Jr. (Class of 1993) (Stephanie Mata), Jessica Mata, Jonathan Mata, and granddaughters Madison, Ava, and Bella Mata, siblings Linda Sifuentes, Diane Cantu, Charlene Valverde, and Mark Alvarado (Maria Alvarado), numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at7:00 p.m. at the Alamo Funeral Chapels. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. at our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
