Michael Salas, age 64, passed away on January 23rd, 2021.

 

Michael is survived by his mother, Teresa C. Salas; siblings Robert Salas ( Alicia ); Liz Ortiz ( Robert ); Jacob Salas III ( Joanne ); Daniel Salas; Andrew G. Salas-Huff ( Andrew ); Anthony G. Salas; Thomas P. Salas ( Cathy ); Ernest G. Ovalle ( Cindy ), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father, Jacob Salas Jr., and his niece Hannah Ortiz.

Michael attended Holy Cross High School and graduated in 1975. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy.

He served as a Hospital Corpsman from 1977-1981 at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. After his honorable discharge, he continued his nursing career in San Antonio. Aside from his family, Michael’s greatest passion was being a Nurse. As displayed by over 40 years of dedicated service to Baptist Medical Center. His hobbies included spending time with his family and collecting movies.

 

Services will be coordinated by Castle Ridge Mortuary. There will be a small graveside service reserved for family only at this time.
