Dr. Escobedo

ESCOBEDO NAMED NEW PRINCIPAL OF HOLY CROSS OF SAN ANTONIO

Holy Cross of San Antonio students will be greeted by a new principal next fall, Dr. Rene J. Escobedo.

Dr. Escobedo said “I am extremely excited to be returning to my alma mater. Holy Cross has given me so much over the years. It is time for me to give back to the school that I love so much.”

Dr. Escobedo began his career in education in 1996 as teacher at Holy Cross. Over his nine years of service at Holy Cross he served as a teacher, coach, and campus ministry director and vice principal. He is currently the Principal of St. Anthony Catholic High School, where he has served for the past 7 years. Dr. Escobedo received his Doctorate in Education in 2014 from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He also received his Master’s in Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio and he received his Bachelors in Sociology from Our Lady of the Lake University.

Holy Cross of San Antonio Principal, Mr. Henry Galindo, said “Holy Cross of San Antonio is fortunate to have Dr. Escobedo onboard as the new Principal for the 2017-2018 school year.” Mr. Galindo adds, “He will do great things for our school. We look forward to him starting this summer.”

Holy Cross of San Antonio is an independent Catholic co-educational middle and high school. The Brothers of Holy Cross founded the school in 1957 steeped in tradition and education. Holy Cross serves as the only co-educational college preparatory school centrally located in San Antonio’s Westside. Based on the principles of the Brothers of Holy Cross, the school’s educational mission helps break the cycle of poverty and opens doors to higher education.
