Dear Parents and Guardians,

Anytime we have a loss to the Holy Cross Family it is a sad and difficult time for us all. The passing of Joe Soto is definitely one of these times, and, like any family, many of us wish to attend the funeral services to say our last goodbye. If your child does, indeed, wish to attend a service to offer their condolences, the ideal option is for them to go to Joe’s visitation and rosary on Wednesday night and not miss school on Thursday. Being so close to the end of the school year and not wanting students to fall behind in their classes, we, as an administration, are encouraging this option for continued student success.

However, if you feel that your child can afford missing class to attend Joe’s funeral mass, please know that one of the actions listed below MUST be completed in order for us to allow your student to leave campus:

  1. A signed note from a parent (regardless if your child is 18 or not) giving your child permission to leave school and attend the funeral mass.

OR

2.  You (the parent) comes in to sign your child out.

Please know that no student will be allowed to leave campus for the mass if one of the two above mentioned scenarios are not completed.

Thank you for your understanding and please contact one of us if you have any questions.

In Holy Cross,

The Holy Cross Administration
