The Scanlan Foundation will match up to $70,000 dollar per dollar raised through tuition assistance for the Holy Cross FUND-A-KNIGHT Program. So, please support our efforts by passing the word along to your classmates about this great opportunity to give back to the students at your alma mater.

Dear Holy Cross Parents,

Again, thank you for choosing Holy Cross of San Antonio.  Our new school year is off to a very fine start. The students are happy.  Seeing them greeting and embracing one another is very encouraging. They really care for one another.  To our returning parents, welcome back.  And to our new parents, welcome to our Holy Cross Family.

We remind you that our Third Annual President’s Blue and Gold Gala is nearly upon us.  It will be on Saturday, September 20, 2014.  The proceeds from the Gala go to financial assistance.  With these proceeds we are able to assist families who want their children to receive a Holy Cross education.  Paying tuition is difficult for many families but we want them to have the opportunity to be members of our Holy Cross Family.

We would like to see our current parents in attendance at the Gala.  This is an opportunity to get involved and to meet alumni and alumni parents.  Hopefully each class could have a table or join with another class to share a table.  Please check with your class representative.

HOLY CROSS’ HANNA BOTELLO AND JAY NAVA PREFORM IN LOCAL MUSICAL RECITAL

Hanna Botello, Jay Nava, and Holy Cross Alumnus, Cory Benavides, who is Jay's Rock Band Instructor.

Holy Cross’ Hanna Botello, Class of 2019 and Jay Nava, Class of 2017 performed this past weekend on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at a music recital held at St. Mary’s University in conjunction with the A-Sharp School of Music.

Miss. Botello exhibited her vocal talents through song, while Mr. Nava preformed in rock band and classical piano.

Congratulations  Hanna and Jay!!! Keep up the great work!

Good Afternoon Holy Cross Families,

The 3rd Annual President’s Blue and Gold Gala  is right around the corner! We are excited to see it all come together. In order for this event to be successful, we are in need of volunteers to help prior to and at the event. This event enables us to raise money to help with tuition assistance funds for our families in need.  Each year, Holy Cross has grown it’s financial aid to our families because of generous Gala donors and sponsors.  The Gala will be held on Saturday, September 20th at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort & Spa, 23808 Resort Parkway, San Antonio, Texas 78261.

If you are able to help in preparation for and/or at the event, we ask that you come to our Volunteer Orientation on Wednesday, September 3rd from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the Business Building Chapel located in front of Brother Stanley’s office.  Thank you for your continued support.

In your prayers please remember Bro. Joseph Esparza, CSC who died today, August 19, 2014. He has been a member of the Brothers of Holy Cross since 1975.  He is a member of the Class of 1970. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Nora Esparza who served as secretary of Holy Cross of San Antonio for many years. His three brothers are Dr. Ray Esparza, ’71, Dr. Robert Esparza, ‘72 and Michael Esparza, ’79.
