Holy Cross of San Antonio wishes to congratulate incoming freshman Jay Nava for his tremendous accomplishments in Youth Track and Field. Jay was named a South Texas Star by the San Antonio Express News.

Rundown: Nava, an eighth-grader at St. Gregory the Great Catholic School, set the “A” boys discus record (132 feet, 53/4 inches) at the Archdiocesan Interscholastic Athletic League (AIAL) meet on April 15. The previous mark was 122-5 set in 2002. Nava also took second place in the shot put and anchored the Chargers’ 800-meter relay team to victory.
