Dress Code

Our dress code has remained the same as the 2014-2015 year. Please click the picture below which contains pictures of acceptable shoes for students to wear. Please avoid purchasing Sperry’s or any type of shoe that does not directly fit the description of a “dress shoe” as listed in the handbook.  For more information, please refer to the Student Handbook (found on the website – pages 17-18, 2014-2015 Dress Code) or call Mr. Angel Cedillo or Ms. Molly Calderon.

UNIFORMS

Most of the uniform items that are needed can be purchased in the Holy Cross Business Office. The HC Business Office hours are from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday during the summer. Any items not sold in the HC Business Office can be purchased at Dennis Uniform. Their address is 431 Isom Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216. Their regular hours of operation are from Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Their phone number is (210) 366-2003. HOLY CROSS SPIRIT ITEMS

Spirit items are also available for sale in the Business Office. The Booster Club will sell additional items at the beginning of the school year.

Holy Cross of San Antonio would like to thank Mr. Gilbert Rodriguez, Class of 1994, for his leadership of the Athletic Booster Club for the last 4 years.  During Gilbert’s tenure as Booster Club President, the organization has generated excellent spirit and financial support of our athletic teams.  Thank you, Gilbert.

Holy Cross welcomes the new president of the Athletic Booster Club, Mr. Louis Lopez Class of 1993.  Mr. Lopez and the Athletic Booster Club executive board are busy planning and preparing for the Athletic school year.

PARENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for 10-20  parent volunteers on Saturday, July 18th to help paint and beautify Holy Cross. We will be meeting in front of the school at 9:00 a.m. If volunteers could please bring their own ladders that would be a big help to our school.

HOLY CROSS of  SAN ANTONIO

JOB DESCRIPTION

Holy Cross of San Antonio is a co-ed middle and high school established by the Brothers of Holy Cross and a component of Holy Cross Community Services. The President works in collaboration with the Holy Cross of San Antonio Board of Trustees (Board), the Principal and the other members of the Administration to provide leadership and coordination to ensure effective management of the school.  The President is directly responsible to the Holy Cross of San Antonio Board of Trustees; promoting and inspiring the vision and implementation of the mission, goals and philosophy of Holy Cross of San Antonio.  This includes general oversight, budget, institutional advancement, and strategic planning.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

FAITH, COMMUNITY AND THE MOREAU TRADITION

  • Embraces the Moreau Tradition of Education
  • Provides for a quality, value centered, college preparatory education for all students
  • Develops an active faith community and models Christian values
  • Incorporates prayer and spiritual formation within the student, faculty/staff and parent communities
  • Upholds and implements the Brothers of Holy Cross Congregational goals
  • Ensures the implementation of comprehensive spiritual, theological and service programs for students

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

  • Ensures the effective overall operation of the school
  • Implements the school’s mission, goals and philosophy in concert with the Principal and  Administration
  • Oversees the hiring process and approves the selection of personnel
  • Provides guidance and direction to the Principal and Administration
  • Responsible for evaluation of the Principal
  • Oversees with the Principal and Administration a system of supervision and evaluation of all employees
  • Provides leadership in developing and implementing the strategic plan
  • Oversees with the Principal and Administration the various required annual reporting procedures (accreditation, audit, etc.)
  • Oversees weekly Principal and Administration meetings
  • Oversees other educational and committee meetings as needed

ADVANCEMENT

  • Works with the Office of Institutional Advancement and Enrollment in developing a plan to increase the Holy Cross Endowment Fund and to create fundraising opportunities
  • Cultivates current and prospective benefactors
  • Participates in capital campaign execution as a member of the campaign leadership team
  • Participates in special fundraising events and donor recognition activities
  • Finds opportunities to connect and network with parents, students, alumni, parents of alumni, benefactors and friends of Holy Cross

PUBLIC RELATIONS, MARKETING, RECRUITMENT

  • Works with the Office of Institutional Advancement and Enrollment in developing a strategic plan to increase enrollment
  • Acts as spokesperson for the school
  • Represents Holy Cross at civic, religious and other public events to provide a positive image of the school’s programs and projects
  • Joins and participates in key community organizations
  • Finds opportunities to promote the mission and programs of Holy Cross
  • Fosters relationships between the school and its constituencies
  • Supports parent, student and alumni groups and attends meetings and events as needed
  • Ensures with appropriate staff that any information provided to the public (collateral materials, press releases, newsletter, web site, etc.) is accurate, uniform and consistent with the mission and values of Holy Cross

FINANCIAL

  • Works with the Business Office leadership and Finance Committee to ensure budget preparation, implementation and fiscal stability of the school
  • Approves all personnel contracts
  • Approves, delegates and/or signs all major contracts of the school

BOARD OF TRUSTEES (BOARD)

  • Provides vision and leadership, and maintains open communication with the Board Is an “ex officio” member of the Board
  • Shares responsibility with the Board for recommending and implementing Board policies
  • Works with the Board to determine the President’s goals for the year
  • Participates with the Board and other constituencies in the development and implementation of the strategic plan
  • Prepares and submits a written administrative report to the Board prior to Board Meetings
  • Keeps the Board informed on the state of the school, periodically coordinates departmental reports to the Board and offers recommendations for future growth and development

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be able to lead and collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues, students, parents/ guardians and Alumni to help advance the Mission of Holy Cross of San Antonio.  A Mission driven practicing Catholic with a passion for Catholic urban education is essential.  A demonstrated track record of successful executive leadership in education, business, or related fields is preferred.  Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills, experience in development and fundraising, and a commitment to modeling collaborative, servant leadership.  A Master’s Degree in business administration, education administration, leadership or equivalent is preferred.
