STUDENT WINS 2nd PLACE AT THE STATE ACADEMIC MEET

Congratulations to Eduardo Cedillo ’18 for placing 2nd in Current Events at this past State Academic Meet. Eduardo is part of a legacy of Cedillos that have attended Holy Cross since 1970. Eduardo’s father Eduardo Sr. ‘84 owns/ runs Good Food Cafeteria, the service provider that runs our cafeteria.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR POWERLIFTING TEAM

Holy Cross Junior’s, Robert Adame, Raymond Casarez, and Joseph Pena competed at the State Powerlifting competition this past weekend. All three individuals brought home wins.

Joseph Pena who won a State Title with a record breaking 930 lb squat. He also had a total of 1930 for all three of lifts. Robert Adame and Raymond Casarez are ranked in the top 15 in the entire state of Texas.

ATHLETIC BANQUET TICKET INFORMATION

Attention Parents,

2015-2016 Athletic Banquets are scheduled for Tuesday, May 3rd (Middle School) and Wednesday, May 4th (High School) at 6 pm in the Holy Cross Convocation Center. All tickets are $10 each and students, that are being recognized, are complimentary.

In order to better prepare for this year’s event and to ensure that everyone has a great experience, we are ONLY offering PRE-SALE tickets and tickets WILL NOT be sold at the door. The Booster Club are selling tickets every Wednesday in front of the weight room from 5 pm – 6:30 pm.

If you absolutely cannot attend one of the days that we will be selling (April 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th), please contact Maxine Gonzalez at 210-415-3786 to make special arrangements for purchase.

HC GOES TO TAPPS MUSIC STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE FIRST TIME

Last week we had a couple of Holy Cross firsts. Junior Jay Nava and Freshman Jessica Quinones both received the highest scores in their respective classifications of Solo Piano at the TAPPS Music State Championships. This is the first time Holy Cross has entered this event and we came out on top. Way to go Knights! We are looking forward to expanding the music team for next year and adding to our list of music accomplishments.

ANNOUNCEMENT: HOLY CROSS IS PARTICIPATING IN THE BIG GIVE SA ON 5/3/2016

This year’s Big Give S.A. will take place from midnight to midnight on Tuesday, May 3^rd! On that Tuesday, the City of San Antonio will come together for 24 hours of nonprofit giving during the Big Give S.A. It’s San Antonio’s third year of hosting this large day of giving, and it’s your chance to make a real impact, as part of a family and community. All you have to do is commit to donating to Holy Cross of San Antonio on May 3rd through the Big Give SA website: https://thebiggivesa.org/ and you help Holy Cross become eligible for prize money and matching dollar opportunities.

How do individuals participate?

On May 3rd, anyone can make an online gift to a participating organization. All donations on May 3rd give your favorite nonprofit the opportunity to earn matching funds and prize incentives. This means that your gift has the capacity to leverage additional funding. You can give by smart phone, tablet, or computer. Minimum donation is $10. There is not a maximum donation.
