Dear families,
Within the past few days, area agencies have become aware of a threat being made toward a San Antonio-area school. The threat was not specific to any particular school, but did allude to possible violence being committed on the morning of April 24th. While this may well be a hoax, we have to treat the threat seriously.
This morning, the San Antonio Police Department and state and federal law enforcement agencies met to discuss a collaborative and coordinated approach. San Antonio’s Regional Intelligence Center (SARIC) and the FBI are evaluating the validity of the threat and tracing its source.
In the meantime, security is being heightened by all area agencies. The San Antonio Police Department, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department, and the FBI are all working to safeguard our students.
The safety of your children is our priority and therefore this collective response will continue and all information will be shared with our schools and parents as it becomes available.
If anyone has information that may help authorities with this situation, please call the SAPD tip line at (210) 225-TIPS (8477).
Respectfully,
Marti West
Interim Superintendent of Catholic Schools
Archdiocese of San Antonio
