Congratulations to our Holy Cross Cheerleaders!

Our cheer squad attended the American Cheerpower Southern National Championship on Feb. 6th and 7th. The Cheerleaders won 1st place in the Small Novice Division and were the High Point Grand National Champions out of 25 teams.

CONGRATULATIONS KNIGHTS!

“I would like to congratulate the HC cheerleaders on their win at Nationals and Cheerpower. As a former HC cheerleader sponsor I know the hard work, determination and dedication it takes both physical and mentally. I know also that behind every cheerleader their are great coaches and sponsors with as much dedication and determination. So congratulations to the coaches and Mindy Fernandez for continuing the success of a great program and keeping up with the legacy that has been handed down to them from our past National Champion Cheerleaders”.

Sudden cardiac arrest in youth remains the leading cause of non-traumatic sudden death in young adults, often happening without signs or symptoms and proving fatal 92% of the time. We know that the thoughtful use of a few simple tests can identify the most common cardiac conditions predisposing a young person to sudden cardiac arrest or death. The consequence of not performing these screens is to leave at-risk youth to their own fate – an action that is not acceptable to us when a viable alternative exists.
Next FREE heart screening at TriPoint Event Center on Saturday, February 7, 2015

Holy Cross Community:

The Holy Cross of San Antonio Strategic Planning Committee is proud to present the current 5-year strategic plan. The strategic plan was the culmination of a long-term process which begun in 2014. A cross-section of stakeholders in the school refined a strategy for growth in four main areas of the school: Catholic Identity and the Holy Cross Mission, Academic Excellence, Operational Vitality, and Governance and Leadership. The result was a vetted, strategic plan which will guide Holy Cross over the next 5 years.

We invite you to review the strategic plan and join us at our next Coffee with the Principal on January 14th at 7:30 a.m. if you have any questions.

Dear Knights,

Happy New Year! I hope that your holidays were filled with peace and joy.

I am pleased to inform you that our Alumni Association is starting the new year in a great place. We have a new executive committee and they are:

President – Juan Barrera, ’88

Vice President – Ruben Saenz, ’64

Treasurer – Chris Ramirez, ’85

Ex Officio – Paul Martinez, ’84

You will be receiving communication from Mr. Barrera in the future. It was a pleasure serving the Holy Cross community as Alumni President and I look forward to assisting Mr. Barrera in the transition.

Please continue to support our beloved Holy Cross and the Alumni Association. It is through the efforts of many that Holy Cross is able to continue its mission of educating the hearts and minds of children.
