HOLY CROSS ALUMNA RECEIVES FULL ROTC SCHOLARSHIP TO ST. MARY’ S UNIVERSITY

Holy Cross Alumna, Alyssa Gomez, Class of 2014, has received the Army ROTC 4-Year Urban Scholarship through the St. Mary’s University ROTC Program. Ms. Gomez will be majoring in Criminology. With this prestigious scholarship Ms. Gomez will receive a full ride for her next four years while attending St. Mary’s University.

Dear Holy Cross Community,

I am very happy to announce the launch of the Holy Cross Legacy of Light Program.  The Legacy of Light Program is a Planned Giving opportunity established through the leadership of Mr. Robert Ramirez, J.D., Ph.D., HC ’67, and Board Member. It provides us all another means to support our Holy Cross Mission. Whether it be through an Estate Gift, Equity donation, Life Insurance, or another means, we have a group of supportive professionals that can guide you through the process.

An information session is being held on July 15th, as noted in the attached announcement: EVENT DETAILS 15JUNE2014.  (Space is limited and RSVP is required.)

More information sessions will follow.  The sessions are led by Dr. Robert Ramirez, Mr. Gerry Impelman, and Mr. Michael A Petter.  These professionals are being gracious with their time and talent in support of Holy Cross.  I invite you all to attend one of the sessions and learn how you can extend Your Legacy of Light to Holy Cross of San Antonio.

TWO HOLY CROSS STUDENTS RECEIVE THE BURZIKS’ BRIGHTEST SCHOLARSHIP

Julian Villarreal, Class of 2015 and Jon-Michael Maldonado, Class of 2016, are the recipients of the Burziks’ Brightest Scholarship through Hope for the Future. Provided to exemplary students attending a Catholic High School in the Archdiocese of San Antonio, the $5000 scholarship award was made possible by a generous grant from Frank and Cathy Burzik, both Catholic School alumnae, through their Burzik Foundation.

The alumni association is coming off a successful Memorial Day Weekend Softball Tournament and is gearing up for the annual President’s Blue and Gold Gala. As you know, two years ago Holy Cross launched this important initiative to support tuition assistance.

In our fifty year history, Holy Cross has been committed to providing a quality Catholic college preparatory education. We have made our institution accessible to many students from all parts of the city and from all backgrounds. Many students would not have attended if not for the tuition assistance and a large portion of our student body rely on this program. Our mission as alumni and friends is to continue this vision of accessibility and to continue our mission to provide a quality education. I hope that you are enjoying your summer.  Things at school are still very busy with Strength and Conditioning, Summer Enrichment, Summer School, and all of the camps that are being held this month.
