Holy Cross of San Antonio is honored to host nationally recognized author and illustrator Xavier Garza to our campus on Thurs., Aug. 15. Mr. Garza will present to the middle school students. He will discuss his books and how to develop the art of writing.

Mr. Garza is the 2012 recipient of the Pura Belpre Honor Award, a yearly award presented to a Latino/a writer for children and young adults. Mr. Garza’s work is full of humor, storytelling, and living the Mexican American experience.

His books will be available for purchase.

In your prayers please remember Larry Seidel of the Class of 1963. Larry died suddenly on Thursday, August 8, 2013. He was vacationing in New Mexico with his wife and daughter and her family.

Services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Lake Cities Church of Christ in Trophy Club, Texas.

Holy Cross of San Antonio’s, Bianca Rosas, ’13, celebrated being named a Gates Millennium Scholar in a ceremony with her peers on May 6. Ms. Rosas is one out of 1,000 Gates Scholars for 2013.  There were 54,000 applicants nationwide. HC is proud of Ms. Rosas accomplishment and wishes her success.

REMINDER:  STUDENT ORIENTATION IS THIS WEEK

Seniors                       Thursday          8:00am

Juniors                       Thursday          10:30 am

Sophomores              Thursday           1:30 pm

Freshmen                   Friday                8:00 am

Middle School          Friday                10:30 am

Mass Attire Required

Freshmen may bring a pair of jeans or Bermuda length shorts to change for Fish Camp which begins at 10:30 am and concludes at 1:00 pm.
