Librarian’s bio:
Originally from the Midwest, Mrs. Lynda Muller is very excited to be joining the Holy Cross of San Antonio staff this school year as Librarian.
Mrs. Muller first wanted to go into a medical profession. She graduated from High School in St. Louis, Missouri and entered nursing school. After working in nursing for a few years, she stayed home to homeschool her children while her husband’s military career took them around the world. It wasn’t until after her children were grown that she realized a long-term dream and entered the library profession. She graduated Summa cum Laude with a BA in English and a minor in secondary language arts education. Her Master’s degree was a Magna cum Laude degree in Library Science with an emphasis on Young Adult librarianship from Texas Woman’s University in Denton.
Mrs. Muller has worked for technical colleges in Omaha and Orlando. She is very excited about coming back to work with young adults. Mrs Muller says, “The biggest part of any young adult librarian’s job should be information literacy education. With so much information available to us today, how do we know what information to use, and how can we use that information to become ethical digital citizens?”
She has three children (2 boys and 1 girl) and has honorary children from around the world who have stayed with her family over the years as exchange students. Her current exchange student is from Thailand!
A member of St. Pius X Catholic Parish, she enjoys reading (of course!) and doing fiber crafts in her spare time.
