MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL
Congratulations to Coach Hammond and our Middle School Boys “B” team for winning the championship trophy at the Little Flower basketball tournament this past weekend. The boys also won the St. Luke’s tournament championship trophy, and went undefeated to win their district championship. Congratulations to our Middle School girls “B” team for making it to the consolation game. Great job boys and girls for representing our Middle School this basketball season.

JUNIOR ADMITTED INTO THE NATIONAL SOCIETY OF HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARS
Junior, Chris Silva ’18, was recently admitted into the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). NSHSS recognizes academic excellence by connecting high-achieving students with opportunities to develop personal strengths and the necessary tools to pursue their passions. Chris is involved in the National Honor Society (NHS), the Student Knight Ambassadors, Basketball, Football, and Track and Field.

SENIOR RECOGNIZED AT THE VALERO ALAMO BOWL SCHOLARSHIP LUNCHEON
Earlier this semester, Joel Gracia ’17 was one of seventy four students recognized at the Valero Alamo Bowl Scholarship Awards Luncheon this past December 14th at Sunset Station.
The scholarship was awarded on the basis of academic achievement, teacher recommendations, financial need, involvement in extracurricular activities and honors as well as a personal narrative. A strong preference was also given to students excelling in varsity sports.
This past summer Joel organized/raised a Stations of the Cross located in front of Holy Cross. He is also heavily involved in the arts, painting, and music. He has performed at the Holy Cross Blue and Gold Gala, Violas Ventanas, Fralo’s and Alamo Beer Co. Joel has been accepted to the University of Portland, Pacific Lutheran University, Concordia University, and St. Mary’s University.
